TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (Shana) -- Iran has unveiled the first indigenized tool for analyzing purity of hydrogen in petrochemical industries.

.

The tool was unveiled during a ceremony on Wednesday where senior petrochemical officials including former National Petrochemical Company (NPC) chief Abbas Shari-moqaddam participated.

The tool was developed at Power Research Center and adopts microelectromechanical systems, or MEMS, method for analyzing purity of hydrogen for which Iranian researchers spent two years to develop.

The MEMS are designed to detect vapors emitted from explosives including TATP.

The analyzer measures temperature of gas samples, is fed by an independent source of energy and is relatively a user-friendly tool that easily calibrates to analyze proportions of different gaseous compounds.

The machine can be used on turbo-generators that cool with hydrogen, hydrogen units, and industrial or laboratory-scale hydrogen producing factories.
